FOLDING A BABY TURTLE
Both sides of the square piece of paper are coloured.
Step 1:
This is the front of the paper.
Turn the paper.
Step 2:
Make mountain- and valley-folds over the
4 lines.
Unfold each fold after you made one.
Step 3:
Make a valley-fold over the 2 lines
below, on the right.
Then, make a mountain-fold over the 2
lines in the middle.
And make 2 valley-folds on top, on the
left.
Now you get a basic shape.
Step 4:
Make these 2 folds over the upper two
layers of the model.
Step 5:
Unfold the folds that you made in step 4.
Step 6:
Pull the end at the bottom of the arrow
up by making
a valley-fold over the yellow line.
Step 7:
Press the edges that stand upwards down,
see arrows.
Use the folds from step 4 as help-lines
while you do this.
Step 8:
Fold the pieces below the 2 lines
upwards by making
a valley-fold over these 2 lines.
Step 9:
Now, the model looks like this.
Turn the model.
Step 10:
Make a mountain-fold over the yellow
line in the middle.
Step 11:
Fold the end above the yellow line to
the backside of the
model by making a mountain-fold over
this yellow line.
Step 12:
Make a mountain-fold over the 2 yellow
lines.
These 2 lines are actually twice as long
as shown in the
picture, but they are partially covored
by the upper layers
of the model. The corners at the 2
arrows are folded towards
the center when you make these 2
mountain-folds.
Step 13:
Make a mountain-fold on the 2
corners of the head, see
the 2 very short lines.
Step 14:
Make a mountain-fold over the
2 lines. A piece of the
front-legs is folded to the backside too
when you make
these folds.
Step 15:
Make a mountain-fold over the
upper line and a valley-fold
over the line below. Now you made a
little tail.
Step 16:
Make a mountain-fold over this
line, so the model becomes
more round.
Then, press the head of the turtle a bit
downwards.
The baby turtle is ready :)
