Origami BEETLE (insect)
This is how to fold an Origami Beetle out of one paper
square.


Step 1:
I
taped a green paper to a black paper. Prefold over the four yellow
lines.




Step 6:
Prefold.
Step 5:
Squash-fold
the flap.
Step 2:
Mountain-fold
the four corners to the center.
Step 4:
Fold
one flap upwards.

Step 3:
First
valley-fold over the two lines at the bottom-right. Then
mountain-fold over the two diagonal lines. And valley-fold over the
two lines at the top left.

Step 10:
Repeat
steps 5 to 9 on the other three flaps.


Step 8:
Press
the edges downwards.
Step 9:
Fold
the triangular flap upwards.
Step 7:
Fold
this edge downwards.

Step 16:
Pull
the upper paper layer upwards.
Step 15:
Fold
one edge on the right and one on the left upwards.
Step 12:
Fold
the triangular flap to the inside.
Step 11:
Pull
both ends outwards.
Step 14:
Repeat
steps 11 to 13 three more times.



Step 13:
Press
both ends towards each other again.


Step 21:
Pull
the end downwards.
Step 19:
This
flap isn't folded upwards. Fold both edges outwards. Curve the flap
backwards while you do this.
Step 20:
Open
the model, see arrow.
Step 18:
Fold
the new / extra flap upwards.
Repeat steps 15 to 18 three more times. One flap doesn't need to be
folded upwards (=step 18).
Step 17:
Valley-fold
over these lines.



Step 22:
The
arrow shows the end/leg of step 21.
Now pull / fold this end downwards.
Step 28:
Fold
the model in half
Step 25:
Fold
the legs in half over the length.
Step 26:
Bend
/ fold the tips upwards over the short yellow lines.
Step 24:
Repeat
steps 21 to 23 on the left.
Step 23:
The
arrow shows the end/leg of step 22.
Pull / fold the third end downwards.


Step 27:
Valley-fold
over the upper line first.
