FOLDING A
BUTTERFLY
Only the front of the square piece of paper is coloured.
Step 1:
This is the front of the paper.
Make mountain- and valley-folds over the
4 lines.
Unfold each fold after you made one.
Step 2:
First, make a valley fold over the 2
lines below.
Then, make a mountain-fold over the 2
lines in the middle.
And make a valley-fold over the 2 lines
on top.
Now you get a sort of basic-shape.
Step 3:
Make these 2 folds over the upper 2
layers of the model.
Step 4:
Turn the model.
Step 5:
Fold the upper layer of the model at the
arrows
up by making a valley-fold over the 2
lines.
You don't have to flatten the piece
after you folded it up.
Step 6:
Fold the yellow piece on the right of
the left line to the left
by making a valley-fold over the left
line. Don't make this
fold over the piece you folded up in
step 5.
Make a mountain-fold over the line on
the right.
Step 7:
Fold the left-wing to the right by
making a valley-fold
over the line on the right.
Then, make a mountain-fold over the line
on the left.
Step 8:
Turn the model again.
Step 9:
Fold the little piece at the arrow to
the back,
so you can't see it anymore on the front
of the model.
Fold the model over the pink line in
half.
Step 10:
Fold the wing to the right over the pink
line.
Do the same with the other wing.
The butterfly is ready!
