ORIGAMI CAKE
These are instructions for making a complete tasty looking origami cake
with whipped cream
on top of it.
Step 1:
This paper is for one slice of cake. The
size is 7,5x7,5 inch
or 19x19 centimeters. The backside is
completely white.
Make a mountain-fold over this line.
Step 2:
Fold the model in half over this line.
Step 3:
Unfold the model.
Step 4:
Repeat step 1 to 3, starting with this
line.
Step 5:
Prefold the model by making a
valley-fold over these 2 lines.
Step 6:
Make a valley-fold over these 2 lines.
These lines are parallel to the lines
you've prefolded
in step 5.
Step 7:
Make an inside reverse fold over the 3
purple lines below,
on the right. Do this by making a
mountain-fold over the line
in the middle and a valley-fold over the
2 other lines.
You automatically make a valley-fold
over the 2 blue lines
while you make this inside reverse fold.
Step 8:
Repeat step 7 over the 3 purple lines on
top in this picture.
Now you automatically make a valley-fold
over these 2 blue
lines.
Step 9:
Each arrow indicates a loose triangular
piece of 2 layers of
paper. Lock the 2 layers of paper
together by pressing them
against each other and making a
valley-fold over the middle
of these triangular shaped layers.
(The purple lines in step 11 show the
place of the folding
lines on these 2 loose pieces)
Step 10:
Make an inside reverse fold over these 3
purple lines.
Now you automatically make a valley-fold
over these
2 blue lines.
You actually just pull the edge at the
arrow to the right
by making this inside reverse fold.
Step 11:
Lock the 2 layers of paper of the loose
piece indicated by
the arrow together. Do this by pressing
these 2 layers against
each other and then making a valley-fold
over the 2 purple
lines.
(These 2 valley-folds are made in one
time, because the layers
are pressed against each other first).
Step 12:
Turn the model.
Step 13:
One slice of origami cake is
ready...
You need 6 of these slices for one
completed cake.
Step 14:
This paper is for one piece of
whipped cream.
The size is about 1,5x1,5 inch or 4x4
centimeters.
If you like large pieces of whipped
cream, it's no problemm
to use a larger paper.
The paper is completely white.
Make a valley-fold over this line.
Step 15:
Lay the corner at the dot on
the left over the backside of the
corner at the dot on the right.
Do this by pulling the 2 corners towards
each other, in the
direction of the 2 arrows.
Step 16:
Hold the 2 corners of step 15
against each other with
2 fingers, see picture.
First, press the model a little bit
inwards at the arrow
on the left. Then, press the model
inwards on the places
indicated by the 2 arrows on the right.
Step 17:
Push the top of the model downwards from
behind, see arrow.
Step 18:
Push or pull the 2 ends indicated by the
arrows upwards a bit,
so the model gets a flat bottom.
Step 19:
Make a mountain-fold on the 2 ends
indicated by the arrows,
to make the model look less edgy.
Step 20:
I used 2 of these pieces for each slice
of cake.
Step 21:
This is one completed slice of cake with
whipped cream.
You need 6 of these pieces for one
completed origami cake.
The origami cake is ready!
