Cockatoo folding diagrams
This is how to fold a funny Cockatoo out of just one
paper.
Step 6:
Valley-fold
this edge downwards.
Step 5:
Prefold
over these 2 lines.
Step 2:
First
valley-fold over the 2 lines at the bottom right.
Then mountain-fold over the 2 diagonal lines in the
middle. And valley-fold over the lines at the top left.
Step 4:
Squash-fold
the flap.
Step 3:
Valley-fold
one flap upwards.
Step 10:
Pull
these 2 ends outwards
Step 8:
Valley-fold
the triangular flap upwards.
Step 9:
Repeat
steps 4 to 8 on the other 3 flaps.
Step 7:
Push/press
the edges downwards/flat
Step 1:
The
other side of this paper is white.
Prefold over these 4 lines.
Step 16:
Make
an inside reverse fold over these 3
lines. Do the same on the left, see arrow.
Step 15:
Make
an inside reverse fold over these lines.
Step 12:
Push
the ends towards each other again.
Step 11:
Mountain-fold
the triangular flap to the inside.
Step 14:
Open
the model on the left, see arrow.
Step 13:
Repeat
steps 10 to 12 with one other triangular
flap.
Step 21:
Mountain-fold
over these 2 lines.
Step 19:
Valley-fold
over 2 layers in once.
Step 20:
Push/fold
the tips of the legs to the left on the
spots indicated by the arrows.
Then turn the model.
Step 18:
Valley-fold
over these 2 lines.
Step 17:
Repeat
steps 15 and 16 on the other triangular
flap.
Step 22:
Make
an outside reverse fold over the 3 green lines.
Fold the model in half over the yellow line while you
do this.
Step 28:
Mountain-fold
over this line.
Step 25:
This
is a top view of the model.
Mountain-fold over this line.
Step 26:
Mountain-fold
over these 2 lines.
Step 24:
Hold
the model between your fingers on the spot
at the yellow dot. Then squash-fold the tip with
your other hand, against the fingers which are
holding the model.
Step 23:
Mountain-fold
over this line.
Step 29:
Valley-fold
over this line, do the same on the
other side.
Step 27:
Press
the tip flat by making a mountain-fold
over the 3 green lines.
Finally,
color the nose and draw little eyes on its head.

Step 30:
Press
the flap flat between your fingers,
see arrows.
Step 32:
Press
the tail flat between your fingers or on
a table, see arrows.
Step 31:
Repeat
steps 29 and 30 on the other 2 flaps.
Cockatoos
look very similar to parrots, but their feathers are less colorful
and they have a large yellow crest. The crest gets larger when the
Cockatoo is angry, scary or exited, to make himself look more
impressive.
