This is an easy way to make a large paper column. I used 2 papers of
50x70 cm
and 4 papers of 35x35 cm for my own column.
And I used cardboard pieces inside the blocks to make them stronger.
Step 1: Both
papers are 50x70 cm.
Prefold in half, then fold the edges to this prefolded centerline.
Step 6: Glue
both ends together, see arrow.
Step 5: Repeat
all previous steps on the second paper and glue them together.
Step 2: Fold
both edges to the centerline.
Step 4: Make
zigzag folds over the prefolded lines.
Step 3: Fold
to the centerline one more time and unfold the model afterwards.
Step 10: Prefold
the four edges to the centerlines.
Step 8: The
papers for the base block and for the top block are 35x35
centimeters.
Lay one square on the other, see purple arrow.
Step 9: Prefold
in half two times, prefold both papers in once. This makes both
parts fit exactly together in step 14

Step 15: This
is the base block, the column is placed on it and the second block
on top of the column.
Step 12: Fold
the corners inwards and the four edges straight upwards.
Step 11: Prefold
the edges to the prefolded lines of step 10. Pull the two papers
separate from each other afterwards.
Step 14: Insert
one part in the other.
Make another base / top block by repeating steps 8 to 14. I used
cardboard pieces to make them stronger, it's not necessary though.
Step 13: Close
the corners by folding the flaps in half or just glueing the edges
together.
Repeat step 12 and 13 on the other prefolded paper.
DONE!
