Origami Dahlia Flower arrangement
These are step by step instructions for folding a
beautiful Dahlia flower
Step 1:
Three
different flower papers are used.
Step 6:
Start
with the two valley-folds at the bottom right. Then the two
mountain-folds, then two valley-folds again, etc. Work in the
direction of the arrows. All lines are prefolded.
Step 5:
Prefold
over these four lines.
Step 2:
Prefold
a flower paper over these 4 lines
Step 4:
Valley-fold
the corners outwards.
Step 3:
Valley-fold
the corners to the center
Step 10:
This
is the first fold of step 9.
Step 8:
Unfold
the folds of step 6
Step 9:
Fold
the center downwards over the outer line, then upwards over the next
line, then downwards again, then upwards. All lines are already
prefolded. While you do this, press the outer part back into
the same shape as in step 7
Step 7:
Prefold
over these four lines.

Step 16:
Repeat
steps 13 to 15 on the other seven petals.
Step 15:
Pull
/ fold the tip of the petal upwards.
Step 12:
Now
step 9 is done.
Step 11:
This
is the second fold of step 9.
Step 14:
Pull
/ fold the petal downwards.
Step 13:
Pull
/ fold the petal upwards
Step 21:
The
leaf paper is a prefolded normal paper (the same size as the flower
papers) cut into smaller squares along the prefolded lines.
Prefold the small square over the purple line.
Step 19:
This
is the backside of the flower, use glue to keep the flower compact
(if necessary).
Step 20:
Make
enough flowers for one arrangement.
Step 18:
Repeat
step 17 on the other seven edges.
Step 17:
Pull
/ fold the edge downwards.
Step 22:
Mountain-fold
over these two lines.
Step 28:
The
stems are long rectangular papers folded over the length a few times
Step 25:
Press
the model flat
Step 26:
Press
/ fold both ends flat
Step 24:
Pull
/ fold the edge to the left at about nine more spots.
Step 23:
Pull
/ fold the edge to the left
Step 29:
A
metal wire is inserted to make the stem stronger.
Then it's folded over the length a few times again.
Step 27:
Make
enough leafs for one arrangement.
DONE!

Step 30:
Bend
/ curve the stem a little. Fold the top sidewards, see pink arrow.
Step 31:
Glue
a flower to the top of each stem and glue one or two leafs to each
stem.
