FOLDING A DAISY
This is actually a kirigami-model, because of the cutting and gluing.
The flower is made of several papers.
Step 1:
This paper is for the center of the
flower and it's coloured
on both sides.
The size is 5,5x5,5 inch.
Pull
the 4 corners towards each other and hold the model
in one hand (see the picture of step 2)
Step 2:
The 4 corners of step 1 are on the right
in this picture.
Step 3:
Press on the bottom-piece of the model
from the outside,
see arrows. Make sure you don't press on
the upper part
of the model.
Step 4:
Fold the edges of the upper part
downwards by making
mountain-folds on several places, see
arrows.
Step 5:
Now the model looks like this from above.
Step 6:
Make a mountain-fold at the arrow on the
right.
Then make a valley-fold at the arrow
next to it.
Then make a mountain-fold at the next
arrow.
And make a valley-fold at the arrow on
the left.
Make sure that this piece you fold 4
times stays
smaller then the top of the model on the
right.
Step 7:
The model looks like this from below.
The piece you folded in step 6 is just a
little bit
smaller then the top of the model.
Turn the model.
Step 8:
The center of the flower is ready...
Step 9:
This paper is for a petal of the flower.
It's white on both sides.
The size is 1x4 inch.
Make a valley-fold over the purple line.
Unfold this fold after you made it.
Step 10:
Make a valley-fold over these 4 lines.
Step 11:
Make an inside reverse fold over the 3
very short lines
on top: A mountain-fold over the line in
the middle and
a valley-fold over the 2 lines on the
outside.
Make the same inside reverse fold at the
place that
is indicated with the arrow.
Step 12:
Put a little glue on the place at the
arrow on the right.
Then, glue the piece indicated with the
arrow on the left
to this piece with the glue.
Step 13:
The petal is ready.
Make 6 of these petals for one flower.
Step 14:
Add glue to the end of a petal
(see arrow on the right)
and glue the petal to the bottom of the
yellow center,
see
the arrow on the left.
Step 15:
Glue 5 more petals to the
yellow center.
Arrange the petals the same as in the
picture of step 16.
Step 16:
This is the bottom of the
flower.
Push or fold the petals upwards a bit
(or curl them
around a pencil).
Turn the model.
The daisy is ready!
(You can use more petals for this
flower, if you like)
