ORIGAMI LILY
This is how to fold a white lily with five petals,
instead of the traditional lily with
4 petals. Instructions for making the leaves are also included.
Step 1:
The
paper for this model is completely white on both sides. Prefold over
these 4 lines.

Step 6:
Press
the 2 layers indicated by the smaller arrows against each other.
Then press the loose piece flat from above with your other hand, see
large arrow.
Step 5:
Pull
the piece indicated by the arrow upwards by making a valley-fold
over the red line.
Step 2:
Make
a valley-fold over these 4 lines.
Step 4:
Make
these folds from the edge of the model to the center, not any
further. First, make 2 valley-folds below, on the right. Then, make
2 mountain-folds in the middle. And make 2 valley-folds on the top
left.
Step 3:
Turn
the model.
Step 10:
Pull
the edge at the arrow downwards by making a valley-fold over the red
line.
Step 8:
Make
a valley-fold over these 2 lines.
Step 9:
Unfold
the folds from step 8.
Step 7:
Repeat
step 6 on the other 3 loose pieces, see arrows.
Step 16:
Push
the 2 ends indicated by the arrows towards each other, so the model
is closed again. Now the model has the same shape as in step 14, but
now the loose triangular piece is folded to the inside of the model.
Step 15:
Fold
the triangular piece above the red line to the inside of the model
by making a mountain-fold over this red line.
Step 12:
Fold
the triangular end (in the middle) upwards by making a valley-fold
over the red line.
Step 11:
Press
the edges that stand upwards down (see arrows), so everything
becomes flat.
Step 14:
Pull
the two ends at the bottom of each arrow outwards, in the direction
of these arrows.
Step 13:
Repeat
step 8 to 12 on the other 3 same pieces of the model.
Step 21:
Fold
the petal below the red line upwards by making a valley-fold over
this red line.
Step 19:
Pull
the upper layer of paper (see arrows) upwards, loose from the rest
of the model. This is almost like pulling a sock inside out. (You
don't have to make new folding lines)
Step 20:
Make
a valley-fold over these (prefolded) lines.
Step 18:
Push
the 2 pieces indicated by the arrows upwards by making a valley-fold
over the red line.
Step 17:
Repeat
step 14 to 16 on the other 3 triangular ends.
Step 22:
Make
a valley-fold over this line.
Step 28:
Press
the 2 layers of the corner indicated by the arrow in the middle
against each other. Then, lock them together by making a
mountain-fold on this corner over both layers in once. Make the same
fold as above on the other two corners, see arrows. The picture of
step 30 shows the 3 corners on which you've made these folds.
Step 25:
Repeat
steps 22 to 24 on the other side of the petal, see arrow.
Step 26:
Turn
the model.
Step 24:
Press
the loose pieces flat between two fingers, see arrows.
Step 23:
And
make a mountain-fold on the other petal.
Step 29:
Curl
all five petals outwards by just rolling them up outwards.
Step 27:
Make
a mountain-fold over these 2 lines, make the same fold on the other
side of these 2 petals, see upper arrows. And make the same 2 folds
as above on the petal in front, see arrows below.
Step 30:
The
flower is ready...
Step 31:
This
paper is for the leaves. Turn the paper.
Step 32:
Make
a valley-fold over these 2 lines.
Step 33:
Make
a valley-fold over these 2 lines.
Step 35:
Make
about 7 leaves for one flower with stem.
Step 34:
And
make a valley-fold over these 2 lines.
Curl the leaf a little bit.
Done!
