ORIGAMI MATCHBOX
You need 2 square pieces of paper for folding this origami matchbox
Step 1:
First, take one paper of 5,5x5,5 inch in
size.
This paper is white on both sides.
Make a valley-fold over this line.
Step 2:
Make a valley-fold over this line.
Make this fold over both layers of the model.
Step 3:
Make a valley-fold over this line.
Make this fold over all layers of the
model.
Step 4:
Unfold the model.
Step 5:
Repeat step 1 to 4, starting with this
line.
You get a pattern of all prefolded
squares when you've
done this.
Step 6:
Make a valley-fold over these 2 lines.
Use the lines you've folded in the first
steps as help-lines
when you do this.
Step 7:
Make a valley-fold over these 2 lines.
Step 8:
Make an inside reverse fold at the
corner indicated with the
yellow arrow. Do this by making a
mountain-fold over the line
in the middle and a valley-fold over the
other 2 lines.
The edge on the left and below go a bit
upwards when you
make these folds.
Step 9:
Repeat step 8 on the 3 corners indicated
with the yellow
arrows.
Step 10:
Add a little glue to the places
indicated with the 2 large arrows.
Then glue this loose piece to the edge
indicated with the
small arrow.
Do the same as above with the pieces at
the other 3 corners
of the model.
Step 11:
The first piece of the origami matchbox
is ready...
Step 12:
Take another piece of paper which is
slightly larger than
the first. This paper is 6x6 inch in
size.
Lay the paper next to the box, see the
picture on the left.
Make 2 mountain-folds on the same place
as the edges
of the box.
Step 13:
Lay
the paper as shown in this picture next to the box.
Make another 2 mountain-folds on the
same place as the
edges of the box.
Step 14:
Now, lay the paper as shown in
this picture next to the box.
Make a mountain-fold on the same place
as the edge of the
box.
Step 15:
And
lay the paper as shown in this picture next to the box.
Make a mountain-fold on the same place
as the edge of the
box.
Then, turn the blue paper and lay the
box on the table as shown
in the picture of step 16.
Step 16:
Lay the white box on the place
indicated with the yellow arrow.
Step 17:
Add glue to the backside of the edge
that is indicated with
the 2 arrows on top. Then glue this edge
to the other edge
that is indicated with the 2 arrows
below.
The origami matchbox is ready!
