This is how to make a (large) paper Palm Tree out of two different
folded
Origami models (leaf and trunk). I used leaf papers of about 30x30
centimeters
and a trunk paper of 1x1 metres (brown wrapping paper).
You can make the tree in any size you like, I made a pretty large one
;)
Step 1: Prefold
in half, then fold over the two outer lines.
Step 6: One
leaf is done now...
Make leaves if different sizes and if possible in different greens.
Step 5: Open
the model.
Step 2: Fold
over these two lines.
Step 4: Make
zigzag folds
Step 3: Fold
in half.
Step 10: Prefold
in half, then fold both parts in half two times. Unfold afterwards.
Step 8: Fold
in half.
Step 9: Prefold
in half, then prefold both edges to this prefolded centerline.
Step 7: This
is a large piece of wrapping paper in two layers, to make the trunk
strong enough.

Step 16: Fold
all edges of the pleats downwards
Step 15: This
is how the trunk looks now.
Step 12: Fold
the upper part over the lower part.
Step 11: Fold
the prefolded mountain-fold lines to the left.
Step 14: Curve
the trunk by pulling the pleats into one direction, see arrow.
Step 13: Glue
the edges together, make the lower part of the trunk a little wider
than the upper part.
Step 17: Glue
the leaves to the top of the trunk.
The lower leaves are hanging downwards a little, the leaves in the
middle go more sidewards. And the upper leaves stand more upwards.
I folded the tips of some leaves downwards.
