ORIGAMI PLANE: WARBIRD
Only the front of the square piece of paper is coloured.
Step 1:
This is the front of the paper. The
backside is white.
Fold the piece above the green line to
the backside by
making a mountain-fold over this green
line.
Step 2:
Fold the piece below the green line up
by making a
valley-fold over this green line.
Step 3:
Make a mountain-fold over the green line.
Unfold this fold after you made it.
Step 4:
Make a valley-fold over this line.
The corner at the arrow is pulled
upwards, in the direction of
this arrow, when you make this fold.
Step 5:
Here a part of the fold from step 4 is
already done.
Now, make everything flat by pressing on
the place indicated
by the arrow.
Step 6:
Repeat step 4 and 5 on the other side of
the model,
see the green line.
Step 7:
Fold the piece on the left of the green
line to the right
by making a valley-fold over this green
line.
Step 8:
Fold the piece below the green line
upwards by making a
valley-fold over this green line.
Step 9:
Make everything flat again by pressing
on the model from above.
The edge at the 2 large arrows lays on
the same place as
the edge indicated by the small arrow
after you've done this.
Step 10:
Repeat step 7 to 9 on the other side of
the model,
see the green line.
Step 11:
Make a valley-fold over this green line.
Step 12:
Make a valley-fold over this line.
Step 13:
And make a valley-fold over
this line.
Step 14:
Fold the model in half by
making a mountain-fold over this line.
Step 15:
Fold the wing downwards by
making a valley-fold over
this line.
Do the same with the other wing.
Step 16:
Make an inside reverse fold
over the 3 lines. Do this by making
a mountain-fold over the line in the
middle and a valley-fold
over the other 2 lines.
You actually just pull the corner
indicated by the arrow upwards
when you make these folds.
Step 17:
Now, make an inside reverse fold on top
of the cockpit.
Do this by making a mountain-fold over
the short green line
and a valley-fold on the same place at
the backside of the
model.
You actually just push the top of the
cockpit indicated by the
arrow to the inside of the model by
making these folds.
Step 18:
Make an inside reverse fold over these 3
lines. Do this by
making a mountain-fold over the line in
the middle and
a valley-fold over the other 2 lines.
(These are the same folds as in step 16)
The paper plane (model warbird) is ready!
If the plane doesn't fly in a good
smooth line you can try
to make the folds in step 11 and 13 a
bit higher, in the
direction indicated by the arrows in the
pictures of step
11 and 13.
And let the wings stand a little bit
upwards to make it fly
better.
