HOW TO MAKE AN ORIGAMI SNAIL
Only the front of the square piece of paper is coloured.
Step 1:
This is the front of the paper.
Turn the paper.
Step 2:
Make mountain- and valley-folds over the
4 lines.
Unfold each fold after you made one.
Step 3:
First, make a valley-fold over the 2
lines below, on the right.
Then make a mountain-fold over the 2
lines in the middle.
And make a valley-fold over the 2 lines
on top, on the left.
Now you get a basic-shape.
Step 4:
Make these 2 folds over the upper 2
layers of the model.
Step 5:
Unfold the folds you made in step 4.
Step 6:
Pull the end at the bottom of the arrow
up by making
a valley-fold over the green line.
Step 7:
Press the edges that stand upwards (see
arrows) down.
Use the folds you made in step 4 as
help-lines when you
do this.
Step 8:
Repeat step 4 to 7 on the backside of
the model.
Step 9:
Fold the end at the arrow down by making
a valley-fold
over the green line.
Step 10:
Fold the model in half over the green
line.
Step 11:
Make a mountain-fold over the line on
the right and a valley-fold
over the line on the left. Make these
folds over the upper half
of all the layers of the model. Make the
same folds on the
backside of the model.
You actually push the end at the arrow a
bit to the inside of
the model with these folds.
Step 12:
Pull the end indicated with the arrow a
bit downwards.
Then, fold this end up by making a
valley fold on the place
that is indicated with the short green
line (this line is just
a bit on the right of the arrow).
Step 13:
Repeat step 12 on the end that
is indicated with this arrow.
Step 14:
Make an inside reverse fold
over the very short green line.
This line is a little bit on the right
of the arrow.
You actually pull the end at the arrow
to the inside of the
model by making these folds.
Step 15:
Open the model on the
bottom-side, see the green arrow.
Step 16:
Make a mountain-fold on the
corner in the middle.
Step 17:
Make a mountain-fold on the 2 corners of
the shell, see the
short green lines.
Step 18:
Twist the ends at the 2 arrows a few
times around.
You can also just fold them 2 times in
half over the lenght,
if you like.
The origami snail is ready!
