ORIGAMI SPIDER
This spider looks a little more realistic then the
jumping spider I designed earlier.
Step 1:
Both sides of the paper are completely
black.
Prefold over these 4 lines.
Step 2:
Make a valley-fold over these 4 lines.
Step 3:
Turn the model.
Step 4:
First, make a valley-fold over the 2
lines at the bottom-right.
Then make a mountain-fold over the 2
lines in the middle.
And make a mountain-fold over the 2
lines at the top-left.
Step 5:
Pull the piece indicated by the arrow
upwards by making
a valley-fold over the red line.
Step 6:
Hold the piece between two fingers, see
large arrows.
Then, press it flat from above with your
other hand,
see smaller arrow.
Step 7:
Make a valley-fold over these 2 lines.
Step 8:
Unfold the folds of step 7.
Step 9:
Pull the edge indicated by the arrow
downwards
by making a valley-fold over the red
line.
Step 10:
Press the edges downwards from above,
see arrows.
Step 11:
Fold the triangular piece below the red
line upwards
by making a valley-fold over this line.
Step 12:
Repeat steps 6 to 11 on the other 3
loose pieces.
Step 13:
Pull the ends at the bottom of
the 2 arrows outwards,
in the direction of these 2 arrows.
Step 14:
Fold the triangular piece
above the red line to the inside
of the model by making a mountain-fold
over this red line.
Step 15:
Press the 2 ends towards each
other again, see arrows.
Step 16:
Repeat steps 13 to 15 on the
other 3 triangular pieces.
Step 17:
Push/pull the pieces on the left and
right of the red line
upwards by making a valley-fold over the
red line.
Step 18:
Pull the upper layer of paper loose from
the rest of the
model, start pulling on the places
indicated by the arrows.
Step 19:
Make a valley-fold over these
(prefolded) lines.
Step 20:
Now you've made an extra end, fold it
upwards by making
a valley-fold over the red line.
Step 21:
Repeat steps 17 to 20 on the other 3
same places
of the model.
Step 22:
The model has 8 ends now: 4 which are
made of more
paper layers then the other 4.
The end in this picture is made of less
paper layers.
Pull the corner indicated by the arrow
upwards by
making a valley-fold over the red line.
Step 23:
Press the corner flat from above, see
arrow.
Step 24:
Repeat steps 22 and 23 on the backside
of the model.
Make sure there's an equal amount of
ends on the
left and right.
Step 25:
Push the edge indicated by the arrow
downwards
a little, in the direction of this arrow.
Step 26:
Fold the 2 upper ends downwards by
making a valley-fold
over these 2 lines.
Step 27:
Make a valley-fold on the next two ends,
see red lines.
Step 28:
And make a valley-fold on the next
2 ends.
Step 29:
Make a valley-fold over this line.
Then, turn the model.
Step 30:
Press the leg flat from aside, see
arrows, by making
a mountain-fold over the red line.
Do the same on the other 7 legs.
Step 31:
Push the 2 front-legs downwards, see
arrows.
Step 32:
Push the tip of each leg downwards a
little, see
the very short red lines.
Step 33:
Push the edges of the body downwards by
making
a mountain-fold over these lines.
Finally, make the body more rounded by
making
a
mountain-fold over the middle line (Just press
the left and right of the body towards
