MONEY ORIGAMI STATUE OF LIBERTY
This is how to fold an Origami Statue of Liberty model out of four
dollar notes.
Step 1:
Prefold
over this line.
Step 2:
Make
a valley-fold over these 2 lines.
Step 3:
Make
a valley-fold over these 2 lines.
Step 4:
Unfold
the model.
Step 5:
Make
a mountain-fold over the line at the right and a valley-fold over
the line at the left.
Step 6:
Make
a valley-fold over the line at the right and a mountain-fold over
the line at the left.
Step 7:
This
is the other side of the model.
Step 8:
Make
a square shaped tube by rolling the model up over these prefolded
lines.
Step 9:
Here
a part of the folds from step 8 is already done.
Step 10:
Hold
the model the same as I do here. Press the model inwards by making a
valley-fold over the black line. Do the same on the backside. Then
press the model flat from above and below, see large arrows. Don't
press the end on the left and right flat. The 2 small arrows show
that the upper corner lays over the other corner.
Step 11:
Repeat
step 10 on the other side.
Step 12:
Now
the model looks like this.
Step 13:
Press
the model inwards by making a valley-fold over the line in the
middle and a mountain-fold over the 2 outer lines. Make the same
folds on the other 3 sides of the square tube.
Step 14:
Make
a valley-fold over this line. Make the same fold on the other 3
flaps of the torch.
Step 15:
Hold
the tip of the torch in one hand, see arrow at the left. Then twist
it counter clockwise a little, see curved arrow.
Step 16:
This
part is done
Step 17:
The
book is folded on the other end.
Step 18:
Make
this part of the model flat by folding over these two lines
(mountain-fold).
Step 19:
Make
a mountain-fold over the line at the right and a valley-fold over
the line at the left.
Step 20:
Turn
the model
Step 21:
Make
a valley-fold over the black line. This line is just below the
arrow. The corner indicated by the arrow is pulled upwards when you
make this fold.
Step 22:
The
arrow shows the corner of step 21. Press the place indicated by the
arrow flat from above.
Step 23:
Repeat
step 21 and 22 at the other side, see black line
Step 24:
Turn
the model
Step 25:
Make
a valley-fold over this short line.
Step 26:
This
piece is done....
Step 27:
This
dollar bill is for the body of the model. Make a valley-fold over
this line, it's a little above the center-line.
Step 28:
Fold
the model in half over this line.
Step 29:
Make
a valley-fold over this line. Make the same fold at the backside of
the model.
Step 30:
Make
this fold over the upper layer only. Do the same on the other side
of the model.
Step 31:
Now
this piece can be placed straight up.
Step 32:
Done
too.....
Step 33:
This
note is for the head. Make a valley-fold over these 2 lines.
Step 34:
Make
a valley-fold over these 2 lines.
Step 35:
Now
you've made a square piece of paper actually. Prefold the model over
these 4 lines.
Step 36:
First,
make a valley-fold over the 2 lines at the bottom right. Then make a
mountain-fold over the 2 lines in the middle. And make a valley-fold
over the 2 lines at the top left.
Step 37:
Fold
the flap below the black line upwards by making a valley-fold over
the black line. Make the same fold at the backside.
Step 38:
Bookfold
the flap on the right to the left over this line. Make the same fold
at the backside.
Step 39:
Fold
the flap below the black line upwards. Do the same at the backside.
Step 40:
Make
an inside reverse fold over these 3 lines. Do this by making a
mountain-fold over the line in the middle and a valley-fold over the
2 outer lines. The 2 ends indicated by the small arrows are pulled
towards each other while you make these folds.
Step 41:
Repeat
step 40 on the other 3 same places of the model, see arrows.
Step 42:
Pull
the 2 ends indicated by the arrows upwards, out of the model. These
2 pieces will keep the head steady on the body later.
Step 43:
Press
the pieces from step 42 flat between your fingers, see arrows.
Step 44:
And
the head is done too....
Step 45:
This

Step 46:
Prefold
over these 2 lines.
Step 47:
Prefold

Step 48:
And
prefold over this line. Use the lines of step 45 and 47 as guidance.
Step 49:
Unfold
Step 50:
Prefold
over these 2 lines. Use the points where the lines of step 46 and 48
cross as guidance.
Step 51:
Make
an inside reverse fold over these 3 black lines. The 2 lines at the
right are already prefolded. The black line in the middle is a
mountain-fold and the other 2 lines are valley-folds. You almost
automatically make a valley-fold over the 2 red lines while you are
making these folds.
Step 52:
Repeat
step 51 over these 3 black lines.
Step 53:
Repeat
step 51 and 52 over these lines
Step 54:
Turn
the model
Step 55:
Make
a mountain-fold over the short line above the arrow at the left.
Make the same fold on the other side of the model, see arrow at the
right.
Step 56:
And
the base is done too...
Step 57:
Slide
the piece on the right in the body, see arrows
Step 58:
Make
a mountain-fold over these 2 lines. Fold over all paper layers in
once. Now the arms are locked.
Step 59:
Place
the body on the base
Step 60:
Place
the head on the body. The center of the head (see small arrow) is
placed in front of the neck. And the two ends indicated by the large
arrows are placed behind the neck. (This are the ends of step 43) If
necessary, you can use the arm for extra balance.
Done!
