ORIGAMI TIGER
The typical tiger patterned paper makes this model
looks pretty realistic.
Step 1:
Both sides of this paper are coloured.
Prefold over these 4 lines.
Step 2:
Make a valley-fold over these 4 lines.
Step 3:
Turn the model.
Step 4:
First, make a valley-fold over the 2
lines at the bottom-right.
Then, make a mountain-fold over the 2
lines in the middle.
And make a valley-fold over the 2 lines
at the top-left.
Step 5:
Pull the piece indicated by the arrow
upwards by
making a valley-fold over this line.
Step 6:
Hold the piece between two fingers, see
small arrows.
Then, press this piece flat from above
with your other
hand, see large arrow.
Step 7:
Make a valley-fold over these 2 lines.
Step 8:
Unfold the folds of step 7.
Step 9:
Pull the edge indicated by the arrow
downwards by
making a valley-fold over the black line.
Step 10:
Press the edges indicated by the arrows
flat from above.
Step 11:
Fold the triangular piece below the
black line upwards
by making a valley-fold over this line.
Step 12:
Repeat steps 6 to 11 on the other 3
flaps.
Step 13:
Pull the 2 ends at the bottom
of the arrows outwards,
in the direction of these arrows.
Step 14:
Fold the triangular piece
above the black line to the
inside of the model by making a
mountain-fold over
this line.
Step 15:
Push the 2 ends towards each
other again, see arrows.
Step 16:
Repeat steps 13 to 15 on the
other 3 same places
of the model.
Step 17:
Push or pull the 2 pieces on the left
and right of the black
line upwards by making a valley-fold
over this line.
Step 18:
Pull the upper layer of paper loose from
the rest of the
model. Start pulling at the bottom of
the edges, see
arrows.
Step 19:
Make a valley-fold over these
(prefolded) lines.
Step 20:
Now you've made an extra end.
Fold this end upwards by making a
valley-fold
over the black line.
Step 21:
Repeat steps 17 to 20 one more time on
the backside
of the model.
Step 22:
Fold the piece on the right of the black
line to the
left by making a valley-fold over this
line.
Step 23:
Make a valley-fold over this line. Make
the same fold
on the piece indicated by the arrow
(=mountain-fold).
Repeat these folds on the other side of
the model.
Step 24:
Prefold over this line.
You can make an extra mountain-fold over
the same
line to make sharper folding lines.
Step 25:
Open the model by pulling the 4 ends at
the bottom
outwards, see
arrows.
Step 26:
Fold the center downwards by making
mountain-folds
over these lines, these lines are
prefolded in step 24.
Step 27:
Press the model back in the same shape
as in step 24
again, see arrows.
Step 28:
Now the model has the same shape as in
step 24 but the
center is folded downwards now.
Pull the flap at the bottom of the arrow
upwards.
Step 29:
Pull the pieces indicated by the 2
arrows upwards,
do the same on the other side of the
model.
Step 30:
Make folds over these 3 lines, the
mountain-fold in the
middle is already prefolded.
Step 31:
Press the neck flat between two fingers,
see arrows.
Then fold the head-piece downwards with
your other
hand, see black line.
Step 32:
Make an inside reverse fold over the 3
black lines.
Make the same folds on the other side of
the model,
see arrow.
Step 33:
Pull a part of the extra paper layer out
of the end again,
see the yellow lines as guidance.
This is to make the head a little larger
again.
Step 34:
Make a mountain-fold over this line.
Step 35:
Make a mountain-fold over these 2 short
lines.
Step 36:
Make a mountain-fold over the 2 black
lines on the left.
Then, make a valley-fold over the short
line on the right
by pressing the pieces indicated by the
2 arrows against
each other between two fingers.
Make the same valley-fold on the other
side of the
head.
Now you've made 2 ears.
Step 37:
Pull the end indicated by the arrow
upwards.
Step 38:
This end is made of two paper layers.
Pull the layer below outwards, see
arrows.
Step 39:
Fold over these 3 lines, make the same
folds on the other
side of the tail.
Step 40:
Push the pieces indicated by the arrows
to the inside of
the model again, no new folding lines
have to be made
to do this.
Do the same as above on the other side
of the tail.
Step 41:
Make a mountain-fold over this line.
Make the same fold on the other side of
the tail.
Step 42:
Curl the tail upwards, see arrows.
Step 43:
Make a mountain-fold over these
(prefolded) lines.
Make the same folds on the other side of
the model.
Step 44:
Make a valley-fold on the tip of each
leg, see arrows.
Step 45:
Hold the leg between two fingers on the
place indicated
by the yellow dot. Then, press the tip
of the leg upwards
with your
other hand, see arrow, against the fingers which
are holding the leg.
Make the same fold on the other 3 legs.
Step 46:
Make a mountain-fold over these 2 short
lines.
Make the same folds on the other side of
the model.
These folds
are to make the model look less edgy.
Step 47:
Press the edge indicated by the arrow
inwards by making
an inside reverse fold over the 3 black
lines.
Make the same folds on the other side of
the model.
Done!
The jeep is not origami, it's papercraft, but the tires are.
