FOLDING AN ORIGAMI TREE
Both sides of the square piece of paper are coloured.
Step 1:
This will be the leaves of the tree.
Make mountain- and valley-folds over the
4 lines.
Unfold each fold after you made one.
Step 2:
First, make 2 valley-folds below, on the
right.
Then, make a mountain-fold over the 2
lines in the middle.
And, make a valley-fold over the 2 lines
on top, on the left.
Now you get a basic-shape.
Step 3:
Open the model, to make it look like the
figure
of step 4.
Step 4:
This will be the leaves of the tree.
Step 5:
This piece of paper that is used for the
stem has
the same size as the paper needed for
the leaves.
The back of this paper doesn't have to
be coloured.
Turn the paper.
Step 6:
Fold the paper in half over the yellow
line.
Step 7:
Fold the model in half again.
Unfold this fold after you made it.
Step 8:
Make a valley-fold over these two lines.
Step 9:
Lay the piece with the 3 arrows on top
of the piece
with the 3 yellow dots.
Now the stem gets a triangular shape.
Press a bit on the outside of the stem,
so it won't
open by itself again.
Step 10:
Add glue to the pieces indicated with
the yellow arrows,
also on the back.
Insert the stem in the other piece of
the model (the leaves)
and glue them together.
Open the bottom of the stem a bit, so it
will
stand more solid.
The tree is ready!
