Origami Venus Flytrap plant (Flesh eating plant)
This
Flesh eating plant is also a design of Joost Langeveld.
Step 6:
Valley-fold
over this line.
Step 5:
Valley-fold
over this line.
Step 2:
Unfold
the red paper.
Step 4:
Tape
or glue both papers together.
Step 3:
Now
the red paper has clear cutting lines.
Step 10:
Fold
the prefolded lines into the right
direction.
Step 8:
Valley-fold
over these 2 lines.
Step 9:
Valley-fold
over these 2 lines.
Then unfold the folds of step 8 and 9
Step 7:
Now
one side is completely red and the other
side is completely green.
Prefold in half over this line.
Step 1:
The
flower papers are made of green papers
and red papers which are taped together.
Fold a red (wrapping)paper around a green paper.
Step 16:
Mountain-fold
the model in half.
Step 15:
Press
the 4 tips flat from aside by making a
mountain-fold over these 4 lines.
Step 12:
Now
the model looks like this.
Step 11:
Make
an inside reverse fold on these 8 spots.
Step 14:
Fold
over these 4 lines.
The model becomes flat by doing this.
Step 13:
Make
an inside reverse fold on these 4 spots.
Do the same on the other side.
Step 21:
And
one flower / trap is done....
Step 19:
Now,
push the edge on the right to the left,
see arrows.
Press the model flat after you've done this.
Step 20:
Repeat
steps 17 to 19 on the left.
Step 18:
Press
the model flat again.
Step 17:
Hold
the model the same as in this picture.
Then push the part on the right to the left,
see arrows.
Step 22:
The
leaf / stem papers are the same size as the flower papers.
Prefold over this line.
Step 28:
Valley-fold
over these 2 lines.
The corners indicated by the 2 arrows are
pulled upwards while you do this.
Step 25:
Press
the model inwards from aside, see arrows,
and fold over these 3 lines. Make the same folds
on the other side.
Step 26:
Insert
a metal / florist wire.
Step 24:
Mountain-fold
over this line.
Step 23:
Valley-fold
over these 2 lines.
Step 29:
Press
these 2 spots flat.
Step 27:
Fold
over these 2 lines.
The
stems are glued into a pot which is filled with large paper balls.
Finally, small black paper balls (Origami Sand) are layed on top of it.

Step 30:
Valley-fold
over these 3 lines.
Step 32:
Glue
a flower / trap to the tip, see next picture
as guidance.
Step 31:
Crumple
the leaf and / or make a few random
folds, see yellow lines as example.
Step 33:
Make
enough of these parts for one completed flesh eating plant.
