Step 1: Prefold
the edge of this newspaper page to the centerline. Then cut along the
prefolded line.
Step 6: Tape/glue
a short strip to a longer one, see picture.
Tape/glue another short strip to the backside of the longer strip, see
arrow.
Step 5: This
is enough to weave one basket
Step 2: The
newspaper strip is folded in half over the length here.
Fold in half again.
Step 4: Make
about 8 of these long strips and 19 short strips. Make short strips by
cutting a long strip in half.
Step 3: And
fold the strip in half one more time.
Step 10: Use
tape or glue to fix the strip to the model, if necessary.
Weave another strip through the model, see arrows (now it's first to
the back, then to the front etc.)
Step 8: Weave
a long strip through the model, see arrows
Step 9: This
picture shows how the strip is woven through the model (to the front,
to the back, to the front etc.)
Step 7: Tape/glue
all short strips to the longer one, first to the front, then to the
back, then to the front etc.

newspaper baskets
Step 16: Press
the bottom of the basket flat on the table, use tape or glue to make it
stronger (if necessary).
This picture shows how to bottom should look like.
Step 15: Repeat
step 13 about two more times, see arrows as example.
Step 12: Make
a tube of the model by taping or glueing the parts indicated by the
yellow rectangles together.
Step 11: Repeat
step 8 and 10 with all other longer strips.
Step 14: Press
this spot downwards.
Step 13: Press
this spot downwards, see arrow, over the part on the left of it.
DONE!
