WEAVE A PAPER BASKET
This is how to weave a small basket out of white paper/folded strips
and sticks
Step 1:
I
used standard white printer- / copy papers.
Prefold in half
Step 6:
Make
6 sticks for one basket.
Step 5:
Use
glue or tape
Step 2:
Cut
along the prefolded line.
Step 4:
Now
it's easier rolling up the paper.
Step 3:
First,
make a few folds on the edge.
Step 10:
Cut
along the prefolded lines
Step 8:
Take
another paper and fold it in half
Step 9:
Fold
in half again and open the model.
Step 7:
Glue
the 6 sticks together.
Step 16:
Pressing
the model inwards from aside makes the basket more ellipse shaped,
see large arrows. Fold the sticks upwards along the edge.
Step 15:
The
weaving pattern (above, below a stick) also goes into the direction
of the sticks, see small arrow. To keep the weaving pattern going in
both directions, it's probably necessary to go above or below two
sticks in once sometimes, see large arrows as example.
Step 12:
And
fold over these 2 lines.
Step 11:
Fold
in half.
Step 14:
Glue
a strip to the center, see arrow.
Weave clockwise, above a stick, below a stick etc. Glue/tape a
second strip to the woven strip.
Step 13:
Make
enough strips for one basket.
Step 19:
The
left stick is folded outwards and the stick on the right is folded
inwards.
Step 18:
Fold
the sticks downwards along the edge, use tape or glue.
The left stick is folded inwards and the stick on the right is
folded outwards, see arrows.
Step 17:
Glue/tape
another strip to the woven one, see arrow. Now start weaving
upwards, making the edge of the basket.
Done!
