ORIGAMI ZEBRA
This zebra is more difficult to fold then the one I designed earlier,
but I think it does look
a little better.
Step 1:
The backside of this paper is completely
white.
Fold the paper in half over this line.
Step 2:
Prefold the model over these 2 lines.
Step 3:
Prefold over this line (Fold the edge at
the small arrow
to the folding line at the arrow on the
left).
Step 4:
Prefold over these 2 lines (fold the
edges at the 2 large arrows
to the edge at the small arrow on the
right)
Step 5:
Make an inside reverse fold over these 2
sets of 3 lines
(the 4 longer lines are valley-folds and
the 2 short lines
are mountain-folds)
Use the folding lines of step 4 as
guidance, see arrows
as example.
Step 6:
Make an inside reverse fold over these 3
lines (make these
folds on the edge you've made in step 5)
Do the same on the edge indicated by the
arrow
Step 7:
Make a valley-fold over this line
Step 8:
Make a mountain-fold over these 2 lines.
Step 9:
Make a mountain-fold over this line.
Step 10:
Make an inside reverse fold over these 3
lines.
Fold the edge at the arrow below to the
edge at the upper
arrow. Do the same with the edge on the
left.
Step 11:
Make an inside reverse fold on the edge
you've made in step 10
Step 12:
Now the model looks like this
Step 13:
Hold the model the same as I
do.
Then pull the head to the right with
your other hand, see arrow
Step 14:
Push the head to the left by
making a valley-fold over the line
at the left and a mountain-fold over the
line at the right.
Make the same folds on the other side of
the head.
Step 15:
Here a part of step 14 is
already done, push the head a little
further to the left.
The 2 ears are pulled down automatically
while you are
doing this.
Step 16:
Make a mountain-fold over this
line. Make the same fold
on the other side of the model.
Step 17:
Press the ear flat between 2 fingers,
see arrows. Do this by
making a valley-fold over the short line
between these arrows.
Do the same with the other ear.
Step 18:
Push the pieces indicated by the arrows
flat from above.
Do the same on the other side of the
head.
Step 19:
Push the tip of the nose to the inside
of the model, see arrow.
Do this by making a mountain-fold over
the short blue line and
a valley-fold at the same place on the
other side of the head.
Step 20:
Fold the edge indicated by the arrow to
the right by making
a valley-fold over this line.
Do the same on the other side of the
body.
Step 21:
Make a mountain-fold over this line, do
the same on the other
side of the model.
Step 22:
Make an inside reverse fold over these
lines (= valley-fold on
the edge, mountain-fold over the line at
the right and a
valley-fold at the same place as the
line on the right, but now
on the other side of the model)
You actually just push the corner
indicated by the arrow to the
inside of the model by making these
folds.
Step 23:
The arrow shows the piece which you've
folded to the inside
of the model in step 22
Step 24:
Pull the corner of step 22 to the
outside again by making
an inside reverse fold over these lines.
Step 25:
Make an inside reverse fold over these 3
lines.
Do the same on the other side of the
tail, see arrow.
Step 26:
First, press the back of the model flat,
see small arrows.
Then, curl/push/fold the tip of the tail
upwards a little, see
large arrow.
Step 27:
Make a mountain-fold over this line, do
the same on the
other side of the body.
Step 28:
Push the edge indicated by the arrow
upwards a little.
Step 29:
Press the leg flat between your fingers,
see arrows.
Do this by making a mountain-fold over
the line between
these 2 arrows.
Step 30:
Press this leg flat too, see arrows.
Repeat step 28 to 30 on the other side
of the model.
Done!
