ORIGAMI BANANA
Only one side of the paper needs to be coloured to
fold this banana
Step 1:
This is the front of the paper, the
backside
is completely white.
Prefold the paper by making
mountain-folds
over these 4 lines.
Step 2:
Make an inside reverse fold over these 3
lines.
Do this by making a valley-fold over the two
longer lines
and a mountain-fold over the short line
in the middle.
Step 3:
Repeat step 2 over these 3 lines.
Step 4:
Unfold the model.
Step 5:
First, make a valley-fold over the 2
lines below.
Then, make a mountain-fold over the 2
lines in the
middle. And make a valley-fold over the
2 lines on top.
You don't have to make new folding lines
to do this,
everything is already prefolded.
Step 6:
Make a valley-fold over this line. The
end indicated by
the upper arrow is on the place
indicated by the arrow
below after you've made this fold.
(The arrow below points at the place
where the
folding lines of step 3 cross each other)
Step 7:
If you want, you can repeat step 6 in
the other direction
(=mountain-fold), so this line is
prefolded better.
Unfold the model again.
Step 8:
Fold the square in the center downwards
by making
a mountain-fold over these 4 lines.
You don't have to make new folding lines
from step
8 to 10, everything is prefolded.
Step 9:
Here a part of the folds from step 8 is
already done.
The model is pushed/pressed back in the
same shape
as in step 6, but now the center is
folded downwards.
Make a valley-fold over the 2 green
diagonal lines and a
mountain-fold over the green line in the
middle. Press the
2 pieces indicated by the arrows to the
right by making a
valley-fold over the short pink line on
the left.
Step 10:
Press the piece indicated by the upper
arrows against
the piece at the arrows below, so the
model gets
completely flat.
Step 11:
Pull the upper layer of paper upwards
see arrows.
Step 12:
Make a valley-fold over these 2 lines.
Make these folds over both layers of
paper of each
piece (see arrows)
Step 13:
Press the model flat from
above, see arrows.
Step 14:
Make a mountain-fold over
these 2 short lines.
Step 15:
Make an inside reverse fold
over the upper layer
of paper.
These lines are already prefolded in
step 3.
Step 16:
Press the model a little
inwards on the places indicated
by the smaller arrows.
Then, make the same inside reverse fold
over the layer
of paper below.
These lines are already prefolded in
step 2.
Step 17:
Fold the 2 ends of the banana to the
left and right
on the places indicated by the arrows.
Step 18:
Press the black piece (see arrow)
inwards from all angles.
Press the place on the right a little
further inwards then
the place on the left.
Done!
And here I made a bunch of origami
bananas by glueing
all black ends of about 7 single bananas
together.
