This is how to make large paper clips which you can
really use.

Make
an outside reverse fold over these lines

an outside reverse fold over these lines
Step 11:
Add
glue into the openings indicated by the arrows, then glue all edges
together tight.
Step 10:
Make
an outside reverse fold over these lines
Step 9:
Make
an inside reverse fold over these lines
Step 5:
Fold
in half one more time and make an outside reverse fold over the
three yellow lines.

Real paper clips are great for crafting too:
You only need to bend the paper clips in the center to
make these heart shaped paper clips.
