ORIGAMI CAT
This cat is not extremely difficult to fold, but
it has everything: legs, tail and ears.
Step 1:
The backside of this paper is completely
white.
Turn the paper.
Step 2:
Prefold over this line.
Step 3:
Make a valley-fold over this line.
Step 4:
The 2 pieces next to each yellow line
are of equal width.
Make a valley-fold over this line.
Step 5:
The width of the model is 1/3 of the
original paper in step 1.
Prefold the model over these 2 lines.
Step 6:
Prefold over these 2 lines.
Step 7:
The places indicated by the 2 arrows are
one the same
place as the ends of the folding lines
in step 6.
Prefold over these 2 lines.
Step 8:
The places indicated by the 2 arrows are
on the same
place as the 2 arrows in step 7.
Prefold over these 2 lines.
Step 9:
Make an inside reverse fold over the 3
pink lines
(=mountain-fold over the short line in
the middle and
valley-fold over the 2 longer lines).
The edge indicated by the small arrow
below is folded
to the folding line indicated by the
upper smaller
arrow.
Make the same folds as above at the
place indicated
by
the large arrow.
Step 10:
Make an inside reverse fold over these 3
lines
(=mountain-fold over the very short line
in the middle
and a valley-fold over the 2 longer
lines)
Make the same folds on the edge
indicated by the arrow.
Step 11:
Make a valley-fold over these 2 lines.
Step 12:
Make a mountain-fold over this line.
Step 13:
Make an inside reverse fold
over these 3 lines.
Step 14:
Make an inside reverse fold
over these 3 lines.
(These lines lay on the edge which
you've made in
step 13)
Step 15:
Make a valley-fold over these
2 lines.
Step 16:
Make a mountain-fold over this
line.
Step 17:
Make an inside reverse fold over these 3
lines.
Step 18:
Make an inside reverse fold over these 3
lines.
Step 19:
The back of the model looks like this
now.
Step 20:
Hold the model the same as I do.
Then, pull the tail to the right, see
arrow.
Step 21:
Fold the edge on the right of the pink
line to the left
by making a valley-fold over this pink
line.
Make the same fold on the other side of
the body.
Step 22:
Now the model looks like this.
Step 23:
Fold the piece below the pink line
upwards by making
a valley-fold over this line.
Make the same fold on the other piece
indicated by
the arrow.
Step 24:
Push the pieces indicated by the arrows
against each
other, in the direction of these arrows.
No new folding line has to be made to do
this.
Step 25:
Hold the model the same as I do.
Then press the head of the cat flat with
your other hand,
see arrow.
Step 26:
Make the pink folding line sharper by
pressing the places
indicated by the arrows against each
other.
Do the same on the other side of the
head.
Step 27:
Now the model looks like this from above.
Step 28:
Make a valley-fold over these 2 lines.
Now you've made one ear.
Make the same folds on the other side of
the head.
Step 29:
And the model looks like this from aside.
Step 30:
Press the edge indicated by the arrow
inwards by making
an inside reverse fold over these 3
lines.
Do the same on the other side of the
model.
Step 31:
First press the edge indicated by the
arrow inwards.
Then, make a mountain-fold over the
short pink line.
Step 32:
Hold the model the same as I do.
Then, press the head a little to the
left with your other
hand, see arrow.
This is to
make the cat's neck a little shorter.
Step 33:
Press the edge indicated by the arrows
inwards by
making an inside reverse fold over the 3
pink lines.
Do the same on the other side of the
model.
Step 34:
Curl the tail: Upwards on the place
indicated by the
arrow below and downwards on the place
indicated
by the upper arrow.
Step 35:
Press the leg flat between two fingers,
see arrows,
by making a
mountain-fold over the pink line.
Do the same on the 3 other legs.
Done!
