Step 1: The other side
of this paper is completely white. Prefold in half four times.
Step 2: Fold the corners
to the center.
Step 3: Turn the model.
Step 4: First, make a
valley-fold over the 2 lines at the bottom-right. Then, make a
mountain-fold over the 2 lines in the middle. And make a valley-fold
over the 2 lines at the top-left.
Step 5: Pull the piece
indicated by the arrow upwards by making a valley-fold over the
yellow line.
Step 6: Hold the piece
between two fingers, see large arrows. Then, press this piece flat
from above with your other hand, see small arrow.
Step 7: Make a
valley-fold over these 2 lines.
Step 8: Unfold the folds
of step 7.
Step 9: Pull the edge
indicated by the arrow downwards by making a valley-fold over the
yellow line.
Step 10: Press the edges
indicated by the arrows flat from above.
Step 11: Fold the
triangular piece below the yellow line upwards by making a
valley-fold over this line.
Step 12: Repeat steps 6
to 11 on the other 3 loose pieces.
Step 13: Pull the 2 ends
at the bottom of the arrows outwards, in the direction of these
arrows.
Step 14: Fold the
triangular piece above the yellow line to the inside of the model by
making a mountain-fold over this line.
Step 15: Push the 2 ends
towards each other again, see arrows.
Step 16: Repeat steps 13
to 15 on the other 3 same places of the model.
Step 17: Push or pull the
2 pieces indicated by the arrows upwards by making a valley-fold
over the yellow line.
Step 18: Pull the upper
layer of paper loose from the rest of the model. Start pulling at
the bottom of the edges, see arrows.
Step 19: Make a
valley-fold over these (prefolded) lines.
Step 20: Now you've made
an extra end. Fold this end upwards by making a valley-fold over the
yellow line.
Step 21: Repeat steps 17
to 20 on the other 3 same places of the model.
Step 22: Fold the piece
on the right of the yellow line to the left by making a valley-fold
over this line.
Step 23: Make a
valley-fold over this line. Fold over all layers of the loose piece.
Step 24: Repeat step 23
on the same place at the backside of the model.
Step 25: Make a
valley-fold over this line.
Step 26: Unfold the fold
of step 25.
Then open the model by pulling the ends outwards, see arrows.
Step 27: Fold the center
of the model downwards by making mountain-folds over these lines.
These lines are prefolded in step 25
Step 28: Press the model
inwards on the places indicated by the arrows. No new folding lines
have to be made to do this.
Step 29: Now the model
has the same shape as in step 25 again, but the top is folded
downwards.
Fold the piece on the left of the yellow line to the right by making
a valley-fold over this line.
Step 30: Fold the loose
piece below the yellow line upwards by making a valley-fold over
this line.
Step 31: Make a
valley-fold over this line.
Step 32: Prefold over
this line.
Step 33: Make a
mountain-fold over the yellow line.
Then pull the tip of the white end downwards, see arrows.
Step 34: Push the place
indicated by the arrow flat.
Then, make a valley-fold over the yellow line.
Step 35: Make a
valley-fold over this line.
Step 36: And make a
valley-fold over this short line.
Step 37: Repeat steps 29
to 36 on the other side of the model.
Step 38: This is the
backside of the elephant.
Make an inside reverse fold over these 3 lines.
Step 39: Hold the model
the same as I do.
Then press the tail flat with your other hand, see arrow.
Step 40: Make a
mountain-fold over this line.
Step 41: Curl the tip of
the tail upwards by just rolling it up.
Step 42: Press the place
indicated by the arrows inwards. Then make a mountain-fold over the
short yellow line.
Step 43: Repeat step 42
on the other leg, see arrow.
Step 44: Press the place
indicated by the arrows down by making a mountain-fold over the 2
yellow lines.
Step 45: Make a
mountain-fold over the short yellow line.
Step 46: Repeat steps 44
and 45 on the other side of the model, see arrow.
Step 47: Pull the tip of
the trunk to the left by making an inside reverse fold over these
lines.
(Make a valley-fold on the same place as the line on the left at the
layer below)
Step 48: Trunk Down......
Step 49: This is the same
picture as in step 47
Pull the trunk upwards by making an inside reverse fold over these
lines.
(Make a valley-fold on the same place as the upper-line at the layer
below)
Step 50: And make another
inside reverse fold over these lines, by pulling the tip of the
trunk downwards.
